About[edit | edit source]

Fire Emblem Awakening is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS handheld video game console in 2012. It is the eleventh entry in the Fire Emblem series, and the first to be developed for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Like previous Fire Emblem games, the gameplay focuses on tactical movement to defeat enemy units and/or clear map goals. The title boasts a cast of characters with varying classes and personality, different difficulty settings, a Casual mode, which removes the classic perma-death mechanic, and a support system for character backstories and chemistry development, which could lead to character marriages, which boosts in-game capabilities when paired-up and unlocks new recruitable characters in the form of their children.
